Calvin Cato

Calvin S. Cato got his comedic start with the Wesleyan University stand-up comedy troupe Punchline and then transferred his unique brand of humor to New York City in 2006. He’s performed in comedy clubs, off-Broadway theaters, coffee houses, the backs of bars, and even a beauty salon. He appeared on the Game Show Network, showcased on QPTV, and performed on the critically acclaimed Naked Comedy Show. He has received favorable mentions in The Examiner, The Collared Sheep, BadSlava.com, Inside New York, and TOLifestyle.com. You may have heard him as a co-host of The Alcoholic Gamer Podcast or as a guest on Newtown Radio’s Cock Talk and Myka Fox & Friends podcast. His comedy has been featured in San Francisco Sketchfest, Austin’s Out of Bounds Comedy Festival, North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival, Funny Girls in Film Festival, and Jersey City Comedy Festival. 2014 proved to be a banner year with an appearance as a featured storyteller on Oxygen’s My Crazy Love as well as an appearance on National Geographic’s Brain Games. Currently, Calvin is one-third of the popular character-based live comedy show Dudes Being Dudes Being Dudes (featured in the Brooklyn Paper and at Sketchfest), produces an LGBT comedy show at QED Astoria (featured in We Heart Astoria), and co-runs Ed Sullivan on Acid at Freddy’s Bar (the longest-running comedy show in Brooklyn). Don’t miss an opportunity to catch this wonderfully likable guy!
